Welcome to Our New Cavan Hub for Autism Assessments
We are pleased to announce the expansion of our autism assessment services with the establishment of a new hub in Cavan Town. Through a strategic partnership with Gerber Psychology Services (GPS), we are now able to offer comprehensive autism assessments in this region, providing families with the support they need closer to home.
Our Partnership with Gerber Psychology Services (GPS)
Gerber Psychology Services (GPS) is led by Wynand, the Clinical Director, who brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to helping children and families navigate the complexities of developmental conditions such as autism. This partnership is rooted in our shared values of professional, empathetic, and quality care.
A Valued Member of Our Team
Wynand is not just a collaborator; he is an integral part of our team, having worked with us for over three years. During this time, he has become a highly valued member of our organisation, contributing significantly to the success and growth of our services. His dedication to the field of autism and developmental disorders is matched by his deep understanding of the needs of the families we serve.
Wynand has worked across all our clinics nationwide, bringing his expertise and compassionate approach to each location. His commitment to excellence and his collaborative spirit have made him a cornerstone of our team, and we are thrilled to continue our partnership as he embarks on this exciting new venture with Gerber Psychology Services in Cavan.
About Wynand and GPS
Wynand is a Chartered Psychologist with both the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). He is also registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist in independent practice. Wynand holds two Master’s degrees: one in Clinical Psychology from the University of the Western Cape and another in Clinical Pastoral Care from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Over the past decade, Wynand has developed a keen interest in working with children who present with autism and other social communication disorders. He has undergone both National and International specialist training in a range of diagnostic tools, including the Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders (DISCO), the Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised (ADI-R), the Developmental, Dimensional and Diagnostic Interview (3di), and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – 2nd Edition (ADOS-2).
What GPS Offers
Gerber Psychology Services (GPS) operates as a part-time private practice with a focus on two main services:
Comprehensive Diagnostic Autism Assessments: These assessments include a parental interview (using ADI-R, DISCO, or 3di), a play-based session with ADOS-2, a concise autism report with tailored recommendations, and parental feedback.
Post-Diagnostic Therapy Services: Following a diagnosis, GPS provides needs-based therapy services for children and their families. These services are personalized and discussed individually with each family to ensure the best possible support.

Assessments at the Cavan hub will be conducted in a private and comfortable setting within a quiet residential area in Cavan Town, offering a serene and welcoming environment.
